Looking Back Vol. 1

Ghouls 'N Ghosts

With my Mother working for a large electronics company during the 1980's through until the mid 1990's. I was fortunate enough to receive a majority of my retro consoles on actual launch days. I remember Jan. 9 1989 like it was yesterday. It was probably the longest school day I could remember, and one of the coldest too. But I didn't care, I knew my Mother would be bringing home that night the newest, and freshest console out the Sega Genesis. I dreamed all day of playing Altered Beast, Golden Axe, and Ghouls 'N Ghosts at home without worry about having enough quarters to play at my local arcade. That evening my mother arrived home with the Sega Genesis, and my favourite arcade game Ghouls 'N Ghosts. My first memories of this game were "Boy this game is hard" but with that I kept playing, and playing, and playing until my Mother forced me to go to bed. All I could think about while trying to sleep was I love the Sega Genesis, and the main character Sir Arthur. The next day at school was hell. Though I was the envy of my peers for having the new Sega Genesis, all I wanted to do was play Ghouls 'N Ghosts. Over the next few months I played this game like a mad man. I owned every other launch title, but Ghouls 'N Ghost was my favourite. I found myself always returning to this game constantly, and rarely ever removing it from my Sega Genesis. To this day I play Ghouls 'N Ghost regularly, mainly because it reminds me of one of the greatest days of my childhood. But also it's an amazing game, and fantastic arcade port with high replay value. In my opinion it's one of the best titles on the Sega Genesis, and of all-time.

Welcome!

Welcome to Genesis Does. A blog documenting my adventures, and mishaps with the Sega Genesis console.  I've been seriously collecting for the Sega Genesis for the past 15 years. I still own my childhood console, and every game I had as a kid.  Now as an adult I would like to own a complete NTSC Sega Genesis collection. Whether it be a lose cart, or complete in box it's doesn't really matter as long as I hopefully can obtain the complete Sega Genesis library.

*Disclaimer- If you are a member of the grammar police this isn't the blog for you.  I personally don't give a fuck about perfect grammar.  This is purely a hobby, and a place for me to document my journey.  So just enjoy it, and take your hate elsewhere.
